Our Story

The idea of Barking Good Pet Services emerged in 2008 after caring for 3 other dogs along with our own for a week. I was impressed with how well it all worked and the benefits it brought to my family and the visiting dogs. So I made the decision to care for dogs on a professional basis and started Barking Good in 2009. It was a great decision and I gained an amazing reputation quickly.

In 2011 it was time to expand and I went in search for a new location finding the perfect spot in the Springbank area for us to call home.

I'm Crystal and the Owner of Barking Good

I left the corporate world after the birth of my oldest son to start Barking Good Pet Services. I have grown up around dogs and always had a passion to understand their innate characteristics.

Through years of research, studying and applying personal experience I have fine tuned my skills in working with a variety of breeds and behaviours.

My goal with EVERY dog is to ensure they are confident in the pack. Using a dogs' breed instinct and applying that into the pack while carefully observing their socialization skills brings the best results out of your dog. Every day is unique at Barking Good and I always ensure that we stay flexible to each dogs' needs.

Meet Evan

My oldest son loves being a part of the excitement around here. We have built some special bonds with our 4-legged guests and our goal is to build a lasting relationship with you so we can continue to enjoy your pets' friendship.

Meet Kendra

Hello! I’m Kendra, I’ve had a passion for animals since day one. I worked in the show jumping industry for 15 years and I’m able to use that knowledge and love with the dogs at Barking Good! When I’m not working you can find me riding my horses, throwing the ball for my dog Ernie or watching hockey. Go Flames Go!

Meet Breigh

Hi! I chose to leave the horse industry to explore my lifelong passion for pet care. My many years as a nanny, working in horse care and training, fostering dogs and volunteering at various rescues kindled my love for exploring behaviors and engaging with each individual personality. I love finding a dog’s favorite spot to be scratched or helping them try something new! It’s wonderful being able to escape my SAIT studies to spend time with your pets. Afterwards, you can find me walking by the river or at home with my fiancé, our rescue dog and 2 cats.

Meet Mckayla

Hello, my name is Mckayla.

I have worked in the dog industry for many years and I love being around all the dogs. I have also worked in a rescue organizing and fostered many of their dogs. I am without my own dog right now but enjoy the company of my hamster and my fish. Working with the dogs never feels like a job to me but, feels more like a second home. When I'm not at my second home, I enjoy art, hiking and going to car shows.

Meet Connor

Hello, my name is Connor.
Animals have always played an important role in my life. From hamsters to horses, I have experience. But it’s dogs that truly sparked my passion for pet care. I’ve worked with canines for almost a decade now. I have a love for training and a knack for understanding our furred friends. When I’m not working I'm usually busy daydreaming off in the mountains with my dog Kraken, instead.
